Manual Under Development

This manual is being actively written. Sections will be expanded with detailed instructions, screenshots, and tips. Check back soon for updates.

01 Installation & System Requirements

System Requirements

  • Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
  • 4 GB RAM minimum
  • 50 MB free disk space
  • Audio interface with WASAPI support (for radio USB audio)
  • Serial port (physical or USB) for radio connection
  • Stable internet connection (1 Mbps upload minimum)

Download the installer from ct7bac.com. HamMixer Server is included in the Full Bundle license.

02 First Launch & Configuration

On first launch, configure your radio serial port, audio devices, and server password. The server uses a separate settings file at %APPDATA%\HamMixerServer\config.json.

03 Connecting Your Radio

The server acts as a transparent serial tunnel. Select your COM port and baud rate. The server does not poll or parse radio commands; all protocol handling is done by the remote client.

Detailed instructions coming soon.

04 Audio Device Setup

Configure capture (radio audio output) and playback (radio audio input) devices. Note: IC-7300 USB audio is mono and will be automatically converted to stereo for streaming.

Detailed instructions coming soon.

05 Server Configuration

Set a strong password for client authentication. Optionally configure IP whitelist (CIDR ranges) for additional security. The server supports one exclusive client connection at a time.

Default Ports

  • TCP 7300 — Control channel (TLS encrypted)
  • UDP 7301 — Audio channel (AES-128-CTR encrypted)

06 TLS Certificates & Security

The server auto-generates a self-signed TLS certificate using Windows CryptoAPI on first launch. Certificates are renewed automatically when within 30 days of expiry (10-year validity).

Detailed instructions coming soon.

07 Port Forwarding & Network Setup

Forward TCP port 7300 and UDP port 7301 on your router to the server machine. Use Dynamic DNS if you don't have a static IP address.

Detailed instructions coming soon.

08 Client Connection

Clients (Desktop or Mobile) connect using the server's IP/hostname and password. The connection is authenticated via SHA-256 and encrypted end-to-end.

09 Monitoring & Logs

The server window shows real-time client statistics, audio health indicators, and a log viewer. Auto-connect and auto-start options are available for unattended operation.

Detailed instructions coming soon.

10 Licensing & Activation

HamMixer Server requires a Full Bundle license. Go to Help > License to activate. The bundle allows 1 server + 2 client activations.
