01 Installation & Requirements

Requirements

  • Android 8.0 or later
  • HamMixer Server running at your home station
  • Full Bundle license (server activation required)
  • Mobile data or Wi-Fi connection

The HamMixer Mobile app will be available on Google Play and App Store. It's a free download that connects to your licensed HamMixer Server.

02 Connecting to Your Server

Enter your server's IP address (or Dynamic DNS hostname), port, and password on the connection screen. The app uses TLS encryption for the control channel and AES-128-CTR for audio.

03 Main Control Screen

The main screen shows frequency display, S-meter, PTT button, band grid, and mode selector. All controls are optimized for touch interaction.

04 Tuning & Band Selection

Use the tuning wheel for smooth VFO control, or tap the band grid for quick band changes. Direct frequency entry is available by tapping the frequency display.

05 PTT & Transmitting

Press and hold the PTT button to transmit. The app captures mic audio, applies DSP processing, encodes with Opus (48kHz mono, 48kbps), and streams to the server in real time.

06 Waterfall Display

View real-time waterfall data streamed from your radio via the server. Tap to tune, pinch to zoom. Available for Icom radios with scope data output.

07 Mic DSP & Audio

Configure compressor, noise gate, and equalizer for your mobile mic. The app runs a foreground service to keep audio alive when in the background.

08 CW Configuration

Configure CW speed, sidetone, and macros for mobile CW operation.

09 Settings & Backup

App settings are stored locally and can be backed up and restored. Server connection profiles can be saved for quick switching between stations.
